Lance Armstrong is the Tour De France icon and the arrival seasons of this tour will miss Armstrong as the cycling legend has officially announced his retirement.
This Tour Down Under was not very promising for Armstrong; he terminated in top 50 and was approximately six minutes behind the 23 years old champion Cameron Meyer of Australia. But this tour was the most curious of all former season as it ended up with the relinquishment of one of the greatest champions and the article possessor of winning seven consecutive races in Tour De France. As announced earlier, this single race of Tour Down Under was the last for Lance Armstrong and he officially announced relinquishment from international cycling at the end of this tour.

Lance Armstrong; 39 years old American expert road racist cyclist started his expert cycling work in 1989, and from the very starting he showed his talent by winning many promising races. Armstrong is knows for Tour De France, as he is the article possessor of winning most races in this tour and he is said to be the icon of Tour De France.
Armstrong faced some difficulties in his life and cycling work as he was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 1996 and it put a break in his career, and there were speculations that he might not be able to ride again. These were the tough times for this great sportsman. He had allembracing treatment along with brain and testicular surgical operation and allembracing chemotherapy; fortunately, he was cured successfully and soon he returned to his passion and profession of cycling. Armstrong come back was the greatest comeback in the history of expert sports; he won consecutive Tour De France races from 1999 to 2005 and made a world record, which will remain for many years to come.
Armstrong won many distinctions and awards throughout his career; he was named Abc Wide World of Sports Athlete of the year in 1999, he won the Prince of Austria Award in Sports in 2000; was named as the Sportsman of the year by Sports visible Magazine for the year 2002 and many other awards. Armstrong has announced his relinquishment from his profession thus saying good-bye to a curious cycling career, and left a path for others to follow.
It is said that the best time leave a party is when it is still hot. So Neil Armstrong has left the cycling at the right time, when his work is at the peak. Armstrong has been a great cyclist and a great human as well he has been running Lance Armstrong Foundation for cancer investigate and support. These social activities make him a great role model for young generation and for those who want to race a work in expert cycling.
Armstrong has all the time been fair in his work and never used drugs or steroids to boost power in order to win possible races, his article is spotless, he used to dope normally while racing. He was never got into any scandal with regard to use of illegal products.
The good news for all the Armstrong fans is that the 39 years old American is still in contract with RadioShack team for whom he will race in multi-sports event, though Armstrong has said good-bye to international career, yet he will be seen in some races as a team member of RadioShack.
